Apsara gets a narrow vote over the likes of Regal Connection and Gallego in the final race on the card. The ground is already riding softer than good, and with more rain forecast, it could be worth taking a chance that Apsara will prove too good for Regal Connection. George Moore's five-year-old scored on good to soft ground at Pontefract a month ago, and more recently finished third in soft ground at Ripon. The step up in trip to 10 furlongs that day did not inconvenience him, and with conditions to suit, he should be in at the business end. Regal Connection was allowed to dominate when winning at Carlisle the time before last, but that was on much faster going and she will find this a much sterner test, so could be worth taking on. Gallego goes well on this track but is another whose chance will be compromised by the underfoot conditions, while of the rest, New England has place claims, but was very unruly at Newbury recently, and cannot be guaranteed to give his true running. All in all, you should get a good run for your money from Apsara.
