Wannabe Posh is the one to beat, with Juniper Girl, Bedouin Blue and St Savarin the ones to chase her home. John Dunlop has a good record in this event, having won it twice in the past four years, most recently with Karlu 12 months ago, and appears to have leading claims again with Wannabe Posh, successful in two of her last three starts. Although yet to repay most of her purchase cost of 200,000gns, this half-sister to quite a few winners has really started to show her true potential this season, scoring at Windsor and Leicester, on both occasions partnered by Eddie Ahern. He was absent when she was beaten at Newbury in between, but is back in the plate now as she bids to defy a 9lb rise in the weights. She will handle the ground and should be up to the task now that connections have found her optimum trip of a mile-and-a-half. Juniper Girl has in the main been very frustrating to follow, but looks certain to be in the frame again, while Bedouin Blue returned from a six-week break when third to the useful Peppertree Lane on heavy ground at Ripon and should also make his presence felt. St Savarin was a soft-ground winner here in April and has run well in defeat since, so has to be given a mention. However, he has to give 8lb to our idea of the winner Wannabe Posh, and that is surely a very tall order.
