Verdict

A trappy opener but a chance for Norfolk Stakes fifth Tilak to return to winning ways. Clearly outpointed by the potentially smart Deportivo at Pontefract last time out, Tilak should feel more at home here and can take the prize at the main expense of the consistent Devious Boy. Pat Haslam's colt has done really well so far and duly landed the odds here in a modest race last time out. This is a much tougher task and he'll do well to follow up. Pride Of Kinloch is an interesting contender having run very well in a big field on his debut at York earlier in the month. With that experience under his belt he could well give Tilak most to do. Vanished has been off a while since a promising debut and may need this, whilst Colonel's Daughter simply is not good enough.
