Welsh Emperor deserves to get his head in front and, following a highly creditable effort last time when finding just the progressive Red Evie too good, is taken to do so at the main expense of Opera Cape and Strike Up The Band. The last mentioned disappointed in a Listed race at Beverley last time but is better than that effort suggests so cannot be discounted. Philharmonic should strip fitter for the two races that he has had recently and makes more appeal than Ian Semple's Big Timer, who gave little sign for encouragement on his return. Godolphin's Opera Cape is better than he has shown in two starts this term and has to be considered but Welsh Emperor has solid claims in this company and is taken to resume winning ways.
