Verdict

Tancred Times showed signs of a return to form last time and is taken to get the better of Lady Protector and Karminskey Park, with College Maid not out of things either. This has the makings of a tight affair, but there was enough encouragement to be gleaned from the performance of Tancred Times behind Sir Don last time to suggest that she can make a bold bid to add to her four course and distance victories. David Barker's mare is well handicapped now and is a sporting selection to beat her seven rivals. Lady Protector in contrast is going up the weights, but has been in good form and cannot be dismissed, while Karminskey Park who has not won for over a year, has improved of late and will appreciate any easing of conditions. College Maid came off third best in a blanket-finish at Ayr, having won there over seven furlongs previously. She might just be taken off her feet here but is another that can figure in proceedings. Aahgowangowan's stable are flying, so although she has not shown much this term, we would not be surprised if she were to be placed at least. In a had one to call, we return to Tancred Times as a tentative pick.
