Verdict
Joyeaux is a sporting option in the finale; Howards Tipple and Word Perfect are others to bear in mind, while fancy odds may be a tempting enough to reel in a small stakes investment for a place with Obe One. The last named has dropped like a rock in the ratings since his juvenile days and finds himself 36lb below his career highest mark. Obviously this is more his level these days and it would not come as the biggest surprise of the betting week were he to turn back the clock. Word Perfect is also potentially well treated despite being set to carry top weight and will no doubt be a popular choice after a solid run at Ayr 11 days ago. Dale Gibson's mount is a previous course and distance winner and a big run can expected from him. Howards Tipple justified a short price when landing the odds at Ayr last time out - running on strongly on the soft ground. He should be suited by the conditions and is expected to be thereabouts. However, Joyeaux, who has been banging on the door of late, can gain some just reward for her consistency if all goes to plan for her. As a hold up horse, she looks sure to have the race run to suit and we fancy the strong pace will play to Joyeaux's strengths in the lucky last.
