Curragh-based LEVER DU SOLEIL has won all three outings since returning to the Flat. He’s burdened with10lb extra today but couldn’t have won more easily over 2m at Catterick last week and Gavin Cromwell’s progressive charge scored over today’s distance at Ayr earlier. Iain Jardine has won the last two renewals with Tor and runs last month’s Pontefract runner-up Jabbaar. Today’s going will be fast enough for the latter but he’s still preferred to Desert Point and Diodorus despite the latter having plummeted down the weights this year.
Jabbaar 12-1 (8-5) Dwelt in touch in rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, chased winner entering final furlong, kept on, 2nd of 8, 2 1/2l behind Caliburn (8-11) at Pontefract 1m 4f hcp (2) sft in Jun.
