While he has winning form on a soft surface, there is no doubting that Wahoo Sam is a better horse on faster ground and David Barron's gelding is passed over in favour of Double Ransom, who gets the vote over Yenaled. The selection has shown progressive form this term, including on soft ground that he seems to relish and is taken to defy his latest rise in the weights. Yenaled has been consistent in similar company and is entitled to be thereabouts. He rates a bigger threat than top weight Cherished Number. A market move for Apache Point would be of interest, while Kristiansand is closely matched with Wahoo Sam on running here last month and is another to consider but Double Ransom has plenty in his favour and gets the vote.
