A very tricky start to York's fantastic three day Ebor meeting, with many in with chances. We have whittled it down to Bagan, Genghis and Turbo with the last named getting the verdict. Toby Balding's gelding can be forgiven his latest effort at Haydock as the jockey reported he was never travelling during the race. He is much better judged on his previous effort at Newbury when a close up fourth to Swift Tango. On that occasion he had subsequent winners Mephisto, Flotta and Wunderwood behind, so the strength of the form speaks for itself. Genghis has shown promise on all three starts this season, most notably at Newmarket when a close up second behind Wait For The Will, and is weighted to go close once again. Bagan has always been held in high regard by the Cecil stable and invariably runs a good race, place money looks on offer today. The Johnston pair Etmaam and King Of Dreams are also worthy of respect, but Turbo is the class act here and gets the vote.
