This could rest between Millenary, Duke Of Venice and Silver Gilt, with the latter just given the nod. The interesting fact here is that Frankie Dettori has deserted Duke Of Venice to ride the John Gosden runner. This son of Silver Hawk put up a decent performance in the Goodwood Cup when the ground was possibly too fast. Romany Prince finished just ahead of the selection on that occasion, but with conditions more in his favour today we expect Silver Gilt to easily reverse that form. Millenary is the class horse in the line up having put up a superb performance here in the Yorkshire Cup when easily beating some top notch rivals. That was over a mile and six furlongs, which is probably his best trip, but he should still go well here against possibly weaker opposition. Duke Of Venice was most impressive when landing the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot, but disappointed next time over twelve furlongs at Goodwood, back over a more realistic trip he will be a danger to all. Sir Michael Stoute's classy First Charter must also be regarded as a threat, but Silver Gilt is going the right way and could be ready to pounce.
