They All Laughed can outstay his rivals in the finale, with Patavium, Jordans Elect and Toshi the main trio to chase him home. They All Laughed has been a model of consistency this year, and has won two of his last three starts, at Southwell, and more recently Newmarket in what was admittedly a weak ladies' affair. With Seb Sanders taking over in the plate today, Peter Hiatt's four-year-old will be a popular choice, even over this longer journey. Patavium showed up well for a long way when third at Newcastle last time, but was plenty fit enough, having been in action over hurdles, so it is debatable whether there is too much improvement to come. He should be there or thereabouts though, along with Jordans Elect, who appears to be the best of Peter Monteith's trio. Toshi finally won a handicap at Musselburgh the time before last, but failed to settle when last of seven on a return visit and is worth taking on. Magic Moth has blinkers applied for the first time but has his share of weight, as does past course-and-distance scorer Bronze Dancer. All in all, we prefer the chance of They All Laughed.
