Shamrock Lady is a tentative selection in the opener, while stablemates I Don't Do Walkin and Diamond Soles also have to be respected. Ten Meropa and Katrina Bee make appeal from the newcomers and are also with placing on the shortlist. The latter is by formerly smart sprinter Captain Rio out of a Muhtarram mare, so holds an interesting mix in her pedigree. Her stable have plenty of ammunition for races of this nature and, as the likely first string from the yard, she is worth noting in the betting. Ten Meropa is out of a half-sister to Arc winner Pride, so can be expected to improve over further. Still, her yard have been doing well with their youngsters, so a bold bid cannot be ruled out. Diamond Soles showed her inexperience on debut and was not given a hard time as a result. The outing can be expected to have done her good and an improved display should not be ruled out completely. However, I Don't Do Walkin looks to hold the higher card in Brian Meehan's hand in the race and this daughter of Orientate is fancied to give the selection the most to do. Nevertheless, Shamrock Lady's Windsor outing produced a filly that finished third in an Irish Group Three and that helps set the standard they all have to aim for today. The terms of the race leave Pat Eddery's charge with leading claims and she can make the most of the opportunity with John Eagan there to help her make her mind.
