      Verdict

Very Well Red can continue to defy the handicapper, with Society Music and Networker also likely to make their presence felt. Very Well Red has been shooting up the weights on the back of some sterling efforts in the last month, rising from 47 to today's mark of 69. You could hardly blame the assessor for slapping another 9lb on after his latest runaway win at Beverley though, and even that might not be enough to put the brakes on Peter Hiatt's four-year-old. Society Music returned to form at Pontefract last time and still races off a favourable mark compared to last year, but is upped in grade here, while Networker did not beat much at Yarmouth in a farce of race after the stalls opened early. Nevertheless he makes more appeal than some of the others despite a 6lb penalty, and of the rest, Linda Perrett's Mandarin Rocket is worth a small mention from a pound out of the handicap after running his best race yet at Ayr. Very Well Red can complete a four-timer.
