An interesting handicap where we have no previous course or distance winners and few in red hot form, but Love Empire may provide the answer for Mark Johnston, while stablemate Chanteuse De Rue and Miss Mactango are among those also considered. The selection is well related and should thrive over these middle distances for a long time to come. He has not been beaten far in each of his last three starts, and tries turf for the first time here. In the hope that it will not prove to be a problem then his consistency can pay off here. Chanteuse De Rue is one of two runners blinkered for the first time and along with Jemima¿s Art we could see an improvement in form. Mark Johnston¿s apparent second string goes well over this sort of trip and on fast ground and can go very close from this mark. Miss Mactango has been given a very reasonable mark of 56 after three abortive attempts in maiden company. Mark Brisbourne knows the time of day though and this handicap debut can see an improved effort from his filly. Kargan did not look to have been done any favours by the assessor on his handicap debut last time and from this mark, for the moment, looks best watched, and we¿ll take Love Empire to score.
