A typical pinstickers' 5f contest on the northern circuit with Ronnie Howe, Mineral Rights, Highland Song and Kings College Boy short listed and the vote goes to Ronnie Howe. Michael Dods has his string in good shape at present and Ronnie Howe went well last time out when runner up to Brut over this trip at Catterick. He is up just 1lb for that run but he still looks pretty well handicapped at present on some of his form and with conditions in his favour it could be his turn again today. Mineral Rights is saddled by Linda Perrett, who does well here. However, this four-year-old is being tried over the minimum trip for the first time and, although he shows a fair bit of speed over further, he has yet to prove he has the zip for this. Highland Song was not far away behind useful yardstick Rothesay Dancer here last time and fast ground and this trip suits him best. He is way below his last winning mark but he does not to be well in as this is now his level, but he can still put up a bold showing. Kings College Boy is respected as the only c&d winner lining up, and with conditions and trip to suit he could go close again from this mark, while Lambency can¿t be totally ruled out for the Jim Goldie team. However, Ronnie Howe is going as well as anything in the line-up and he can take this.
