Kenmore is preferred to Mormeatmic, Botham and Maison Dieu. The selection found the line coming just too soon when staying on late to take second over course and distance last time but that was a more encouraging performance which suggested that his turn may not be far away. He's well handicapped on the pick of his form and shouldn't be far away. Maison Dieu comes into the race on the back of a win but he has only ever managed to win once in a season and could find that the extra weight is enough to stop him. Botham has been running well and appeals as a likelier winner but appears to need the run of the race over this trip which is a bare minimum for him. The trip is also a concern for Optical Illusion who has only tackled a distance this sharp once in eleven starts and he was badly outpaced on that occasion. Mormeatmic failed to win last year but he's well handicapped as a result and ran his best race for some time on his latest start. That brings him into the equation but we prefer the claims of Kenmore.
