RESURGE looks worth another chance and gets the vote in the opener ahead of Almoutaz and Hall Hee. The selection was the winner of a decent maiden at Newmarket in the spring and a mark of 85 did not look too taxing for his handicap debut back at the same track in July. He ran no sort of race there, so perhaps something was amiss, and he has now had three months off. Freshened up and with enough ability to handle this mark he can return to form. Almoutaz returns to this trip after going close over 7f last time. He usually runs to his mark and therefore looks a solid alternative for those not wishing to chance the selection. Buxton steps back up in trip but has not yet convinced over a mile, so we will look elsewhere. Hall Hee looks a danger. Marcus Tregoning's filly is open to plenty of improvement and went very well in a similar contest last time, so she looks sure to be thereabouts. Saltagioo is interesting for Marco Botti and he should be better just for having had the experience of a recent Lingfield outing, so he can't be ruled out after showing decent form in Italy. Moonlight Man rarely runs a bad race and should be in the shake-up, while Solent Ridge is interesting blinkered for the first-time and from a yard going well. However, for today we'll take Resurge to live up to his name.
