RED JUNIOR shaped with promise on his debut and he can open his account here; the list of dangers is headed by Close Alliance and Officer In Command. Brian Meehan's colt looked a promising type on his racecourse bow when he finished third behind Four Winds at Sandown. The form has since been franked by the second Ra Junior who was an easy winner at Newmarket last week and the selection here looks to be the stand-out bet of the evening. Close Alliance is an interesting newcomer from the John Gosden yard and they merit plenty of respect in these type of events. However, he will have to be quite useful to make a winning racecourse debut here and we are prepared to look elsewhere. Officer In Command stepped-up on his debut to chase home Braveheart Move at Wolverhampton last time over 7f. He was doing his best work at the finish in that race so this extra furlong should suit and he is respected. Mark Johnston's newcomer Neuchatel is worth a market check on his debut, but this looks a really good opportunity for Red Junior who is a confident pick.
