        Verdict

        Last year’s leading juvenile Too Darn Hot proved his doubters wrong when winning the Prix Jean Prat at Deauville earlier this month. But he appeared to have been beaten fair and square by CIRCUS MAXIMUS in the St James’s Place Stakes at Ascot and Ballydoyle would hardly have supplemented the Galileo colt for this if they didn’t fancy his chances. Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Phoenix Of Spain wasn’t quite at his best at Ascot but is a top-class miler who shouldn’t be left out of calculations. Lord Glitters pounced late to win the Queen Anne at Ascot and would relish further rain but probably still has a bit to find against the three-year-olds.
