    Verdict

PINATUBO goes from strength to strength and remains unbeaten after returning the impressive winner of the Listed Chesham Stakes at Ascot on his first start over 7f. Charlie Appleby’s colt should confirm superiority with runner-up Lope Y Fernandez and continue his upward curve. Another Godolphin runner in Platinum Star came up just short in the Group 2 July Stakes over 6f at Newmarket with Visinari in close attendance while Mystery Power is penalised for winning the Group 2 Superlative over today’s trip at HQ though the Hannon yard have a fine record in this contest. A facile winner in novice company at Salisbury on his debut, Positive could be anything but Milltown Star is difficult to recommend at this level.
