Sir Dancealot beat Suedois, 2017 winner Breton Rock and Donjuan Triumphant when landing last year’s renewal. He’s competed mostly at the highest level since then and it would be no surprise if he returned to form in this. Zaaki landed a double over longer trips including the Diomed at Epsom before suffering a head defeat in the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot and has leading claims along with HEY GAMAN (NAP). The latter has similar form with Pattern race victories over 7f before finding only the higher-rated Romanised too good in the Group 2 Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh. James Tate’s colt may just have the edge over today’s trip and gets the vote. Space Traveller also has a strong shout on the back of landing the Jersey Stakes over 7f at Ascot while Joseph O’Brien’s Speak In Colours attempts today’s distance for the first time after winning a Listed race over 6f at the Curragh. Pretty Baby will appreciate the return to today’s trip and is preferred to Flaming Spear.
