The progressive Setting Sail missed out on a hat-trick when runner-up in the John Smith’s Cup at York but finished in front of Jazeel. The latter had earlier beaten Beringer by the narrowest of margins at Sandown and it’s hard to separate that pair. Soto Sizzler drops down in trip having landed a double over 1m4f at Epsom earlier while Nicklaus and Bless Him step up in distance with the former representing last year’s winning yard and a tongue-tie fitted for the first time. The unexposed Johnny Drama faced a tough task at Ascot last month on his debut for new connections and MOUNTAIN HUNTER failed to land a blow behind Addeybb in the Listed Wolferton at Ascot on his first start since March. A dual handicap winner at Meydan in February, talented apprentice Cieren Fallon takes 5lb off his back for this and the Godolphin charge can run a big race. Mark Johnston has a good record in this but Aquarium has not been at his best and Ryan Moore partners stablemate Ventura Knight.
