The shortlist here consists of Strudel, Climate Change, The Coires, Art Modern, Adoration and Kingholm, with the vote going to Strudel. Strudel created a very good impression when scoring in a Nottingham maiden last time, and he is taken to build on that here in a fairly competitive heat. Climate Change also has the look of an improver and he gets a good mention. Even though the John Gosden-trained runner only won by a short head on his last run, that race was run at a muddling pace and we liked the way that he stuck his head down and battled. The Coires won well at Salisbury and a four-pounds rise might not hinder his chances too much, while Nanton remains consistent but soft going might not be ideal for him. Art Modern can build on his Newbury second to La Bella Grande last time, with Active Asset looking held on that form, while Adoration ran well when second over course and distance on similar going to today when he last ran here, so he has to be considered. The Composer has become a little disappointing after promising more, and Kingsholm showed his liking for easy going when second over a mile here last time, on which form he is closely weighted with She's My Outsider. Finally. Final Promise has been raised five pounds for a fair Warwick win, although he will need to improve again to score. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Strudel.
