Most of these are out of sorts at the moment so it could pay to side with the in form Flying Spud, True Patriot and Garston Star could be the main rivals. John Spearing's gelding landed a similar race to this at Nottingham last time, beating Biscar Two a shade comfortably. That was an improved performance and with question marks against most of his rivals today a follow up is on the cards. Garston Star made a very pleasing seasonal debut finishing a close up third behind Incisor at Brighton, another big run is expected. The dark horse in the field could be Phillip Mitchel's superbly bred True Patriot who should improve now he's tackling longer trips. Of the rest Oktis Morillious is weighted to go close, but in a tricky opener we will take a chance on Flying Spud.
