At the time of this preview Stoic Leader was down to run on Tuesday, but if he takes his chance again today he will be a major threat to all, however we will side with Best Before, with Lockstock and Trousers just two of many dangers. In the past Best Before was not renouned for his consistency, but this season he looks a different animal. He was successful on the all-weather at Lingfield and then finished runner at both Windsor and Warwick. On both those occasions he wasn't beaten far and he can regain the winning thread against mainly out of form opponents. Lockstock and Trousers are the exception, they both come here following comfortable victories. Trousers was most impressive when beating Top Dirham at Newcastle, while Lockstock got the better of today's rival Amnesty at Bath, both should be in the firing line again. Spirit's Awakening is an outsider that could sneak into a place from the bottom of the handicap, but for the winner we return to Best Before.
