Polyphon can make the most of the weight that he receives from Taipo Prince, with Donovan and Peggy Sioux expected to be the main dangers. Polyphon was attempting to give a stone away to Catch The Perk when narrowly beaten by that rival over fences at Hexham 11 days ago, and although only just able to get a bit further than the minimum trip, can improve enough to open his account. The ground is not seen as a problem and he is taken to account for the topweight Taipo Prince. Kate Milligan's charge, a maiden on the Flat, shaped well when beaten by Len Lungo's Word Gets Round here three weeks ago, but the form might not amount to much and he is worth taking on. Donovan showed his best form for a while when fourth to Tiger Frog at Sedgefield recently, but will probably find this trip on the short side, while Peggy Sioux has the assistance of Richard Johnson and so should not be entirely discounted. However, Polyphon, back over hurdles, showed enough last time to command respect and gets the vote.
