In depth

Verdict

BROUGHTONS POINT appears to have found his niche and may be able to follow up at the main expense of Swordsman and Gaselee. The selection started her career in a claimer at Yarmouth and returned to the seaside venue eight all-weather races later to gain a second success on just her third start at around this trip. She has been raised by 6lbs for that victory but that may well be lenient given that the second home won at Chepstow on Monday. She does have to prove her ability to handle the contours of this track unlike Commemoration Day who would be of keen interest if attracting support. Swordsman has been well beaten on two of his three visits here but the last two have come in competitive races so it may not pay to read too much into that whilst Perception is on a fair mark and may have more to offer as a staying handicapper. Gaselee is consistent as has On Terms been on the all-weather and it will be interesting to see if she can translate that to grass but one with less to prove is Broughtons Point.
