BOMBADERO is the suggestion in a race where live chances are also held by Total Command, Regal Park and Lovely Eyes amongst others. The selection represents the yard that landed this prize last year and he should benefit from this step up in trip. He stepped up considerably from his debut to finish 6 lengths behind Gardening Leave on his final start of last term and made a pleasing start to this term when a staying on sixth behind Heddwyn who was also in action at Newmarket over the weekend. Regal Park was just a neck behind in that contest so there's nothing to choose between the pair on that evidence and he should also be equally well suited by the longer trip and his entry in the Irish Derby suggests that he has some ability. Total Command has a little in hand of the selection on official figures and should be suited as he moves up in trip but he disappointed supporters on his reappearance and no longer holds an entry for the Dante. Coiled Spring doesn't have much to find on the figures but may lack the scope of some of his rivals such as Lovely Eyes who looks sure to improve over middle distances this season. The market should be revealing but Bombadero should be competitive.
