Verdict

David Pipe's Brandy Butter has been in fine form of late with back-to-back wins at Newton Abbot and Market Rasen but they have both been in sellers and the four-year-old faces no easy task giving weight away all round here back in a novices' hurdle so a better bet looks to be ELEVENSES, who gets the vote ahead of Prescelli. Keith Goldsworthy's mare won well at Ludlow in March and has been a creditable second in two subsequent starts in handicaps so she should be thereabouts again but the opposition here looks strong so she may have to settle for minor honours. The Evan Williams-trained Whenwehadmoney was well held on his debut but should have learned from that, while Watoscar ran promisingly on his hurdling debut but needs to improve to trouble the judge. Jonjo O'Neill's Chapolimoss fell too early on to know what he would probably have achieved at Hereford last time but had shown promise previously so he has to be considered but preference is for Elevenses. Disappointing on his debut in a Hereford bumper, the six-year-old made a pleasing start to his hurdling career when a comfortable winner of a novices' hurdle at Fontwell and the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding can follow up that success.
