Kieren Fallon's presence aboard Peopleton Brook suggests that a big run is expected whilst Captain Kallis is another on our radar but we'll take a flyer with RIO ROYALE. Amanda Perrett's charge has been well beaten and shown little on both starts this season but has come down a long way in the weights over the last twelve months having finished fourth over course and distance last season from an 18lb higher mark; he's tried in cheekpieces now and is well enough handicapped if they bring about some improvement. Peopleton Brook has won here a couple of times, bounced back to form last time and is also well handicapped so holds leading claims but this hold-up performer will always need a little luck in running. Captain Kallis has never won on grass but is on a competitive mark and running well at present and Alan Munro is a positive booking as is the engagement of John Fahy for the veteran performer Forest Dane. Hazytoo is another that merits close inspection but Rio Royale is the hopeful nomination. (Ian Ogg)
