BLACK MOTH, Kojak and Postscript may have this maiden between them and Brian Meehan's charge is taken to come out on top. The Lambourn handler rarely has his horses wound up for their first outing on a racecourse so there's plenty of encouragement to be taken from Black Moth's third at Wolverhampton despite the fact that he returned a beaten favourite. The winner is no slouch and he can be expected to step up on the bare form. Kojak has already earned himself quite a reputation when ducking violently to his left and unshipping Richard Hughes when in contention in a decent race at Ascot. He looked all over the winner last time only to find little close home (He's The Star held in third) and may be one to swerve until proving his resolution in a finish. Postscript showed up well for a long way at Leicester and has to be feared on that evidence but nominal preference is for Black Moth whose yard took this prize two years ago.
