Desperate Dan isn't the easiest ride for an apprentice so may have to settle for a minor role today and stronger claims are held by Secret Witness and JOHNSTOWN LAD who receives our vote. The Irish raider will probably find this company more to his liking and he's well enough handicapped to play a role here as he is just 3lbs higher than when scoring over course and distance in September. Desperate Dan goes particularly well here but is a bit of an old monkey and will test the abilities of the inexperienced Mark Power to the full but it would be no surprise to see him in the mix. Secret Witness should also be involved but a 7lb mark for his win at Salisbury takes him to a career high mark and the victory may just have flattered him a little as the second had the worst of the draw. Drawnfromthepast is well handicapped on his juvenile form and from a yard that's enjoying a better season whilst Kyllachy Storm, Nepotism and Mrs Penny are others to note but Johnstown Lad gets the nod.
