Bluie, Slice and Layla's Hero are the trio to look at in a typically difficult nursery where there is some good form on offer, with BLUIE given the vote to justify his long trek south. Having run well in a very hot maiden by Bath standards, Slice made no mistake with a taking performance at Chepstow recently. He is difficult to assess but is clearly talented and progressive and looks sure to play a part. Layla's Hero is a stablemate of the selection, and he made up for a tardy start at Thirsk to win nicely at Hamilton subsequently. He is another progressive type, but his form does not look quite as strong as some of his rivals. Jockey bookings suggest Bluie is the stable's second string, but he has been running well of late. He was outpointed by a speedy type in a York seller, before running out a decisive winner in similar grade last time. He gets in at a featherweight and Bluie can take full advantage.
