Yarra River, Texan Star and Poor Prince are the three against the field in a maiden where the market should be watched, with POOR PRINCE taken to step up on a promising debut. Yarra River has run with promise on both starts to date, only run out of it in the closing stages in what seemed a decent contest at Epsom. The most experienced runner in the race, Yarra River looks sure to give a good account. Texan Star has a combination of speed and stamina in his pedigree and showed some quality too when chasing home a useful type on debut at Newbury. He should progress from that sound effort and will be thereabouts. Exuberant before the start on his debut, Poor Prince was only touched off close home in a decent Sandown affair, and his trainer Clive Cox knows where he stands as far as decent juveniles go having landed a Group Two event here on Wednesday. Poor Prince hails from a yard in form and can take this.
