Gary Moore's Alrafid would win this with ease if able to reproduce his best form but the nine-year-old has shown very little worthwhile form of late and he looks best watched in a race taken to go to CORNELL PRECEDENT, who gets the vote over Priest Field. The last mentioned was formerly trained in Ireland where he showed fair form on the flat and over hurdles and he now makes his debut for Tim Vaughan. The Dominic Ffrench Davis-trained Head To Kerry has yet to translate flat form to hurdles and looks best watched, while Tim Vaughan's Mad Professor ran better at Plumpton last time and has to be considered in a similarly weak contest. Park Drive disappointed when last seen in December and Tor Sturgis can produce one fit after an absence so he has to be respected but it is Cornell Precedent that gets the vote. The four-year-old has failed to complete in his last two starts but they have been in better company than this and he looks worth another chance in this moderate race. (Nick Millard)
