Makena has won her last three starts, the latest of them back over fences at Southwell, but a 12lb rise for the latest of her successes looks harsh and she may struggle to complete a four timer. The ex-Irish trained Courella has run well in two starts for Evan Williams and has every chance racing off the same mark as when a well held second behind Frosted Grape at Hereford at the beginning of the month. Jonjo O'Neill's Native City has given little sign for encouragement in recent starts and of more interest may be recent Stratford winner Swordsman, although a 10lb rise for that win gives him more to do in a race taken to go to MORENITO. Tom George's gelding could not have won with any more ease than when successful over course and distance last month and he can win again.
