Verdict

Tommy Carson, a winner at Market Rasen in July when last seen over fences and on the flat again since, is taken to score again at the main expense of Lincoln Place and Labula Bay. The last mentioned has gone up 9lbs for his win at Exeter when last seen in April and faces no easy task on his return with his fitness not guaranteed. A bigger threat then may come from the Philip Hobbs-trained Lincoln Place who was pulled up at Newton Abbot last time when the ground was against him and may be better judged on earlier form. Helvetius has disappointed in two starts since winning at Newton Abbot in May and is probably bets watched for the moment. Of more interest may be Colin Tizzard's Just Reuben, who is entitled to come on for his recent reappearance, especially with the longer trip today to suit. Tommy Carson is in good form at present though and he looks to be the one they all have to beat.
