Forbearing has his first start for John O'Shea since being claimed out of Martin Pipe's stable and is probably best watched today in a race that is taken to go to Petanque, who gets the verdict over Tiquet. The selection is well in at the weights judged by official BHB ratings and returns to hurdling after a couple of disappointing starts over fences for Nicky Henderson. Now trained by Evan Williams, who has his string in good form, the son of King's Ride is taken to make the most of the favourable terms. Former stablemate Tiquet looks to be one of the lesser lights in the Henderson yard but has to be respected at this lowly level. The 11-year-old It's Wallace would probably prefer a softer surface, while Martin Pipe's Maldoun has given little sign of encouragement since winning a maiden hurdle at Kelso in May 2003. Dante's Battle and the lightly raced Mini Saddler are others to consider in a race that is taken to go to Petanque.
