Apocalozzo's form figures stand out like a sore thumb in this field and he cannot sensibly be opposed. He has had two starts since joining Tim Vaughan from Richard Guest and has won them both with relative ease. Both outings came over fences but he's able to revert to the smaller obstacles from his old mark which makes him look well handicapped despite being 6lbs out of the weights. True, he has to prove his effectiveness over hurdles as well but there's no reason as to why this much improved performer won't make light of this task. Sovereign Spirit is one of few in the line-up to have run well last time and thus enters calculations as a danger; he would appear to have every chance of playing the bridesmaid again. There's little to recommend the remainder on recent evidence and this looks booked for Apocalozzo.
