In depth

Verdict

The fillies' handicap that closes the card can go to Hoh My Darling, who is preferred to Beauchamp Twist, Moonfleet and Grandma's Girl. Hoh My Darling is in good heart, and following her Brighton win, she was unlucky in running when fourth at Windsor on Monday. The fact that connections are prepared to run her again so quickly suggests that she has come out of the race well and, with her mark being a fair one, she can go well at what will be a new trip for her. So far Bellalou has performed better on the all-weather so, unless backed, this makes us look elsewhere for the choice. Beauchamp Twist and Moonfleet are both wearing headgear for the first time and they both hold claims based on the best of their recent efforts. Grandma's Girl was noted staying on last time, which was an improved effort and it will be interesting to see how she fares over this much longer trip today. Wasalat is also taking a big step up in distance, so the jury is out on her, although her overall form means she is worthy of a mention. Overall in terms of the winner, though, the one for us is Hoh My Darling.
