Red Rudy, Blue Hedges and Le Soleil are the three against the field here with preference for Red Rudy. The Tony Carroll-trained four-year-old was having his first run for his new yard when a neck behind Goose Chase in a Kempton handicap earlier this month. He is still a maiden but looks on a fair mark and a reproduction of that run can see him land the spoils here. Blue Hedges benefited from a change of tactics when held up off the pace before swooping to win close home in a Lingfield handicap in January. He was second at the same track in February and has every chance again today on the basis of that form. Le Soleil was a tailed off ninth of ninth on his return to racing action at Southwell earlier this year. He had won in banded company before this and he would be of interest today if there was money for him. Red Rudy gets our vote in a tricky-looking handicap.
