There's not much form to go on in the fillies maiden so it's perhaps best to limit our stakes to a small win-bet and Virgin Islands is the one carrying our money with Puteri sas and Star Jasmine the others worth noting. Virgin Islands ran green on her racecourse debut at Kempton last month when she was second behind the highly-regarded Awatuki. She could not get near the winner but kept-on under pressure under Philip Robinson and the Michael Jarvis-trained three-year-old is our choice to go one better today. Puteri Sas has been off the racecourse since she was five lengths, third behind Nasheej in a Newbury-maiden last June. Her breeding suggests she will benefit from this step up in distance and she represents the main danger to our selection. Michael Bell and Jamie Spencer have teamed up to good effect so far this season and Star Jasmine represents them here. She is a 55,000 Guineas, daughter of Grand Lodge and is sure to appreciate the trip, however our selection is Virgin Islands.
