IRISH PEARL is a very hopeful selection to land this after what looked an unlucky run at Beverley last time. When set to make her challenge, she was hindered at a vital stage and although that Beverley event was nothing to write home about in terms of quality but the suspicion remains that she would have finished quite a bit closer only for that interference and the soft ground can only aid her cause. Equulus Pictor bids for the hat-trick and is now up an aggregate of 12lb for two victories. The wet spell throughout August looks to have suited him and he is another that warrants respect given the soft ground that is forecast. The Jobber and Woodcote are the others in the field that look the most likeliest winners. The Jobber has dropped to an attractive handicap mark while first time headgear worked the oracle on Woodcote and he is now 7lb higher for that victory last time out. Irish Pearl is given the value pick in this sprint handicap.
