Mishrif is selected to land division two of the of the auction maiden after a promising effort first time out in what looked a decent maiden. Concerns exist with regard to the well-being of Peter Chapple-Hyam's string but Mishrif was noted staying on very late in the day at Newmarket. Purchased for 150,000 guineas at the Breeze Ups, he didn't shape like the precious sort you would expect him to be hailing from that sale but nominal improvement from his first to second runs would see land this. Captain Ellis is the obvious danger. He was an expensive failure last time after a highly promising debut effort at Haydock. It looked as if inexperience got the better of him there and the step up to seven furlongs should suit him. Bagber hails from a yard that have had a good August from their small band of runners. He was noted running on in the closing stages last time although he possibly was rather flattered, running through beaten horses late on. Star Links, is a Bernstein colt who sales price as a two year old was considerably lower to that paid for him as a yearling. Cool Strike is worth keeping a check on in the market but Mishrif is the pick.
