A poor turnout for this novice stakes and IMPERIAL GUEST looks the most likely winner of this four runner contest. Dropped to six furlongs last time out when scoring at Windsor, he beat a 94 rated rival in Brae Hill there and while the runner-up may be rather flattered by that rating, Imperial Guest had run very well previously in a decent nursery under top-weight and the form may not be bad. The slight concern would be if this were to turn into a tactical affair, in which case the selection may not be best suited but he looks good enough to land this. Portugese Caddy caused a shock when landing a Windsor maiden but the consensus was that maiden did not amount to much. The third and fourth have since failed to land similar events. The newcomers are best watched in the market with Confucius Captain being a half-brother to Harper Valley, a smart juvenile for Ger Lyons before turning his attentions to hurdling. Imperial Guest is selected to land this juvenile conditions contest.
