Yellow Card is only a tentative choice in a wide open maiden, with Chanteuse Noire and Elusive Warrior obvious dangers from those with experience, while Prince Of Delphi is a newcomer worth noting in the betting market. Prince Of Delphi - a son of Royal Applause - is a full brother to the high-class Acclamation and would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut. His trainer, Henry Candy, is more than capable of getting one ready to strike first time out and it will be noteworthy to see how the on-course market reacts before the off. Elusive Warrior is related to a couple of sprint winners in the States and is respected on the best of his form. However, he tries the minimum trip for the first time and has something to prove after 8 previous attempts to get off the mark. He already looks regressive and is not one to take a short price about. Chanteuse Noir, having made the frame in three of her last four outings, has also been frustrating to follow. She has been failing to get home over six furlongs, though, so this step back a furlong looks a logical path to follow with the daughter of War Chant. Nevertheless, Yellow Card dropped a significant hint that his turn is not too far away when he finished a close second at Brighton last time. And, with experience on his side, Yellow Card is fancied to be a touch too wily for the well-bred Prince Of Delphi when push comes to shove.
