In a competitive race, Sweet Pickle is nominated over Mandarin Spirit and The Cayterers. Sweet Pickle is the proverbial mare in form and, despite a three-pounds rise for her Newbury win last time, she looks set to go well again, her turn of foot being a useful tool at this kind of level. Lipizza is on a competitive mark, as is Louphole if anywhere near his best form. Given that Mandarin Spirit usually runs well after his second run back from a break, he has to be given some thought following a good Lingfield run, while The Cayterers has been given a chance by the handicapper again and cannot be ruled out. Buy On The Red is capable of running well from this type of mark if on a going day, while Mr Cellophane is another to have dropped to a mark from which he cannot be ruled out of showing up, and Marko Jadeo is closely-weighted with him based on August Windsor form. Finally, High Ridge seemed to be coming back to form with his Catterick second four days ago but the drop in trip may not entirely ideally suit For Life, despite his recent improved form. For the selection, then, we return to Sweet Pickle.
