Baldovina, Astral Charmer and Patavian are three against the field in a trappy opener and the narrow vote is given to Astral Charmer. The selection was placed at up to 10-furlongs on the flat, is sure to have been well schooled and in a trappy affair he looks the value bet. Baldovina rates the main danger as he hails from a yard that can ready a newcomer but all his best form on the flat was over sprint trips so stamina has to be taken on trust and he looks opposable on that basis. Patavian won over 11-furlongs on the flat on fast ground and is another that could go well but his stable are not renowned for first time out winners. Of the remainder, Dee Jay Wells's best form on the flat was with much more cut in the ground, but he could improve for the fitting of a first time tongue-tie and should be watched in the market, but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum we are happy to side with Astral Charmer.
