POINTVIEW GALE (NAP) landed a hunter chase at Down Royal before a fine handicap debut at Downpatrick where he narrowly failed to concede 6lb to Le Grand Chene. He could have done without a 3lb rise but looks certain to give a good account and gets the nod. Tareesh Lane is another to emerge from the point-to-point field and gained his third victory between the flags at Farmaclaffley in February. He makes his handicap debut on a decent mark so should go well while Carrigeen Lobelia was in the process of running a big race when falling at the second last here a couple of weeks ago. Better B Quick fell at the first in that latter event but had run very well over the track and trip in November and would have a chance in that sort of form.
