The booking of Ruby Walsh aboard GOLAN GUY suggests a big run is expected and we'll take the hint in selecting the horse in preference to Yeomanry and Short Grass. Martin is a shrewd placer of horses and always targets this meeting, so this son of Golan must be taken seriously with Ireland's finest aboard. The horse has travelled well to a point more than once and, whilst venturing into a handicap would've made him more interesting, Ruby isn't riding to make up the numbers. Yeomanry will go will if taking to hurdles; he's shown up in a couple of reasonable bumpers and should cope with the ground. Short Grass is another to consider having made late headway on his hurdles introduction, in the process showing he acts on this ground. Abbey Lane represents a top team and won a point to point so he'll be staying on whilst Selskar was travelling well when falling last time and would have claims if none the worse. This race isn't easy to solve but the booking of Ruby Walsh aboard Golan Guy is enough to sway us.
